Khazna Expands Infrastructure to Accelerate UAE’s Leadership in Artificial Intelligence

Khazna Data Centers, a global name in digital infrastructure, has taken a significant step forward in its UAE expansion journey by initiating construction on two cutting-edge data centers in Abu Dhabi: AUH4 in Mafraq and AUH8 in Masdar City.

Khazna Expands Infrastructure to Accelerate UAE’s Leadership in Artificial Intelligence

These new facilities will complement QAJ1 in Ajman, which is rapidly advancing to become the region's first AI-optimized data center. Together, the three sites are set to provide the digital backbone necessary to fuel the UAE’s fast-growing demand for artificial intelligence and cloud-based services. Built to meet LEED Gold certification, all centers are being equipped with innovative technology designed specifically for high-performance AI and cloud computing.

“The UAE’s digital transformation is accelerating as more industries rely on AI-driven processes,” said Khazna CEO Hassan Alnaqbi. “This is generating an extraordinary need for intelligent infrastructure, and Khazna is proud to lead the way in addressing it.”

He added that the launch of AUH4 and AUH8, along with the significant development progress at QAJ1, solidifies Khazna’s role as a foundational player in building the UAE’s future digital economy.

Boosting Regional Cloud and AI Capabilities

Together, AUH4 and AUH8 will add 60 megawatts (MW) of capacity, significantly increasing the region’s hosting power for cloud and AI applications. Their completion is scheduled for August 2026 and December 2026, respectively. A modular approach is being utilized to enhance construction efficiency, reduce waste, and shorten timelines. Additionally, adiabatic free cooling systems are being integrated to enhance energy efficiency, ensuring a lower Power Usage Effectiveness (PUE) across both facilities.

Meanwhile, QAJ1 in Ajman is poised to set a regional benchmark as the first data center purpose-built for AI. Designed to accommodate a massive 100MW capacity, the facility will deliver the high-density computing power essential for next-generation AI applications.

With steel structures finalized, the first phase of QAJ1 is on track for completion by December 2026. It will incorporate advanced liquid cooling technologies capable of managing the thermal demands of high-performance GPUs and CPUs. These systems will enable seamless and efficient AI processing. Furthermore, AI-driven energy management solutions are being implemented to ensure maximum operational efficiency and minimal downtime.

Driving UAE’s Digital Transformation

As AI infrastructure becomes a strategic focus for national development, Khazna’s swift progress on these projects is aligning with the UAE’s vision of becoming a global leader in digital innovation. With AUH4, AUH8, and QAJ1, the UAE is not just keeping pace with the global tech race—it is setting the standard for AI and cloud data infrastructure in the Middle East.
