Saudi Gulf News: 2025 was record breaking year for Saudi Energy (Formerly known as Saudi Electricity Company). The story starts from earning which is SAR 102.2 billion. The Saudi Energy Company earns SAR 12.89 billion net profit which is 89% more than last year.

How Saudi Energy Achieved This Profit

The demand of electricity in Saudi Arabia has increased because the country is growing. More factories and people are using electricity. Company had old problems and disputed amounts which company had to pay last year 2024, that is why profit was very less last year. That problems were finished and now company gained profit.

But everything was not easy. The expenses of company has increased. They spend a huge amount in installation of new plants and maintenance of old plants. In addition the company also join some financing schemes in order to develop more projects.

All above that the position of company was much strong and stable that international rating agencies point it in better position. This is just a start. Saudi Energy is developing such a system which will be helpful for next generation under Saudi Vision 2030.

Mega Projects and Achievements

Saudi Energy is not only selling electricity but also developing different projects. New projects of total capacity 24 GW are developing. Samtah Solar project was awarded to EDF Renewable. Its capacity is 600 MW. It is located in Jazan Province. Gas power plants are being developed like PP10, and Rabigh 2 power plant. 12.3 GW of renewable energy (Solar and Wind) has integrated until now. The transmission lines exceed 104000 Km.

Service Improvement

Customer satisfaction reached 86%. 40.8% distribution network is now automatic. Time to install new meter has been decreased 14%. Time duration of blackout and repeated blackout has been decreased 7% to 15%.
