The two parties involved OQ Gas Networks (OQGN), Oman and Fluxys, Belgium for the purpose of joint development of hydrogen transportation infrastructure in Oman. The signing ceremony was held in Muscat under the patronage of Engineer Salim Nasser Al Aufi, Minister of Energy and Minerals. The scope of collaboration is the joint acquisition of a minority stake in the hydrogen network. The Operational Contribution for both companies will contribute to the operations of the hydrogen infrastructure.
The strategic goal is to align with Oman
2040 Vision and national hydrogen production goals. The strategic importance is
to builds upon a MoU signed in September 2023 for hydrogen and carbon dioxide
networks development. To follow Fluxys’ 4.9% stake acquisition in OQGN during
its IPO. It will showcase a mutual dedication to advancing energy transition
and developing decarbonization infrastructure in Oman.
This will reinforce OQGN’s role in enabling low-carbon
infrastructure development. It will support Fluxys’ international strategy of
linking renewable energy-rich regions like Oman to Belgium and Europe.
