Replacement of Existing Wooden Poles – 115 kV Overhead Transmission Line (OHTL) between SHEDGUM-2 BSP, HIE 1, UYUN, and JAWATHA BSP Substations

Overview:

This project involves the replacement of existing wooden pole overhead transmission lines with new steel structures and underground cable installations to enhance reliability and future scalability of the 115 kV transmission network. The main objective is to establish a robust 115 kV electrical link between UYUN and NADA substations using underground cables while upgrading and replacing the existing overhead lines between major substations in the network. The work shall include all necessary material procurement, civil works, installation, testing, and commissioning until full integration into the National Grid.

 

Key Components of Scope:

1. 115 kV Underground Cable (UG Cable) Portion:

• Installation of new 115 kV UG cables between substations.
• Disconnection of existing 115 kV UG cable links for future use.

2. 115 kV Overhead Transmission Line (OHTL) Portion:

• Installation of new 115 kV OHTL using steel structures.
• Conversion of existing wooden pole lines to steel towers.
• Dismantling of old wooden pole OHTL infrastructure.
