Under this agreement, Parsons will play a critical role in managing and monitoring the overall program delivery. Their responsibilities include overseeing design phases, procurement processes, construction progress, and the integration of smart city technologies. This marks the beginning of new work for the company within one of the world’s most ambitious urban transformation projects.

King Salman Park is envisioned as a groundbreaking green space development, covering 11.6 square kilometers of lush landscapes, alongside over 10 square kilometers of built-up urban features. The park is set to be a cultural and recreational hub, housing iconic landmarks such as the Royal Arts Complex and a 7.2-kilometer pedestrian path called The Loop. The entire project supports the goals of Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 and specifically aligns with its “Quality of Life” initiative.

Speaking on the project, Pierre Santoni, President of Infrastructure EMEA at Parsons, shared his enthusiasm:
“King Salman Park is a visionary development that blends culture, sustainability, and urban innovation. We are honored to contribute to this transformative initiative, helping to shape the future of Riyadh. Our team will bring together Parsons’ global legacy of over 80 years with our deep-rooted experience in Saudi Arabia to successfully deliver this world-class destination that enhances community life.”

Sustainability is a cornerstone of the King Salman Park vision. Situated on the site of the former Riyadh Air Base, the project aims to regenerate the environment by planting over 1 million trees and plants. This large-scale greening effort is expected to boost biodiversity, improve local air quality, and contribute to climate resilience.

George Tanasijevich, CEO of the King Salman Park Foundation, highlighted the environmental significance:
“Our goal is to transform this historic area into a thriving ecological space. By planting trees near roads and buildings, we’ll reduce CO₂ levels, increase humidity, and counteract the urban heat island effect. This initiative not only enriches vegetation and wildlife but also raises the standard of urban living for future generations.”

Once completed, King Salman Park is set to become a global benchmark for sustainable urban development, offering a harmonious blend of cultural, recreational, and environmental experiences for both residents and visitors.
