Saudi Gulf News: Linxon has successfully energized a 380 KV Bulk Supply Point (BSP) Expansion Project in Taif East Governorate. The purpose of this project is to make strengthen the country's energy demand and to support clean energy target as per Vision 2030.
Modern Gas Insulated Switchgear (GIS) from Hitachi Energy has been used in this project. It will not only increase the reliability of grid but also it will be easy to add renewable energy (Solar or Wind) in system.
Project Overview:
| Feature | Details |
| Project Name | Taif East Governorate (TEG) 380 kV BSP Expansion |
| Location | Saudi Arabia |
| Company | Linxon (using Hitachi Energy technology) |
| Key Technology | High-voltage Gas-Insulated Switchgear (GIS) |
| Scope of Work | Turnkey design, GIS integration, line reactors, control & protection |
| Primary Goal | Grid reliability, scalability, and renewable energy integration |
Analysis and Impact of This Project:
This is not just an expansion of substation but it is a symbol of change in energy sector of Saudi Arabia. The GIS Technology proves that it will get more efficiency in less area. Electricity flow will be better by using line reactor and advanced control system. The risk of technical faults will be low.
This project is aligned with Saudi Arabia's Vision 2030. The electricity supply in Taif area will be more stable. The risk of power cut will be low. This system is ready to handle the need of electricity in future.
