Muhammad Asif is a Saudi Arabia–based Safety Engineer, energy analyst, and industry writer with over 8 years of hands-on experience across the construction, oil & gas, and energy sectors in the Middle East.

He holds a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Engineering and Technology (UET), Lahore (2012–2016) and a Master of Science in Energy Engineering, equipping him with a strong foundation in engineering systems, energy economics, and industrial sustainability.

Professionally, Muhammad Asif works with a contracting company in Saudi Arabia, where he is actively involved in major infrastructure and industrial projects, including Overhead Transmission Lines (OHTL), substations, underground utilities, and large-scale construction works. His role as a Safety Engineer places him at the intersection of engineering execution, regulatory compliance, workforce safety, and environmental responsibility.

He holds internationally recognized safety and management certifications, including NEBOSH International General Certificate (IGC), NVQ Level 6, ISO 45001, and ISO 14001, reflecting his commitment to global best practices in occupational health, safety, and environmental management.

Beyond project sites and technical documentation, Muhammad Asif is deeply passionate about analyzing how oil & gas developments, construction megaprojects, and energy investments influence national economies. Living and working in Saudi Arabia gives him first-hand exposure to Vision 2030 initiatives, infrastructure expansion, energy diversification, and industrial transformation, allowing him to translate complex projects into meaningful economic and societal insights.

As an author at Saudi Gulf News, he writes opinion-led, analysis-driven content that bridges the gap between engineering realities and economic impact. His work is aimed at industry professionals, job seekers, investors, and general readers who want a deeper understanding of what major projects truly mean for the Middle East’s future.

Originally from Pakistan, his academic background and international professional experience allow him to offer a balanced, ground-level perspective—combining technical accuracy with real-world industry context.

Why I Write

I write because behind every oil & gas contract, construction project, or infrastructure announcement, there is a much bigger story—one that affects jobs, economies, energy security, and the future direction of entire countries.

Working directly on projects such as OHTL, substations, and underground infrastructure, I have seen how decisions made on paper translate into real-world impact on workers, communities, investors, and national development. Too often, industry news focuses only on headlines and numbers, while the technical, safety, economic, and long-term implications remain unexplored.

Through Saudi Gulf News, my goal is to provide clear, honest, and in-depth analysis—not just reporting what is happening, but explaining why it matters. I aim to help:

  • Industry professionals understand trends beyond their job sites
  • Job seekers see where opportunities are truly emerging
  • Investors evaluate projects with a practical, on-ground perspective
  • General readers grasp how energy and construction shape everyday life

My writing is driven by experience, curiosity, and a belief that knowledge should be accessible, practical, and rooted in reality—not just theory or press releases.
