Impact of This Project

  • Local Content: Local firms are emerging as lower bidder which shows that the competition is very tough with international firms. The money will circulate inside Kuwait and employment will be increased.
  • Low Competition: This is very interesting that only two companies has submitted bids. There can be many reasons either the other companies has full capacity now or PAHW's technical requirements are tough thats why only two companies has qualified. There are 90% chances that lowest bidder will win this contract.
  • Future Pipeline (2026-2030): This is just a start. More substations, underground caballing work, and water network will be in pipeline for South Sabah Al-Ahmad and South Saad Al-Abdullah. Kuwait's utility sector will be a "hot" for next 4 to 5 years.

Importance of South Sabah Al-Ahmad

South Sabah Al-Ahmad is major housing project of Kuwait. PAHW is continuously bidding substations construction to power up this city. Larsen & Toubro (L&T) and National Contracting Company (NCC) has also developed substations in this area before.

PAHW is checking and evaluating technical and financial report of these two bids. It will award "Letter of award" after few weeks.
