KIPIC Will Issue New Tender for Al-Zour Refinery in March 2026

Executive Summary:

KIPIC is looking for consultancy Services for the Implementation and Maintenance of GE APM Asset Performance Management System at KIPIC Al-Zour Refinery and LNGI Facilities. The work duration is 5 years. The tender will be issued in March-2026.

What is GE APM (General Electric Assets Performance Management):

This is combine system of services and software which helps the industrial contractors to make sure that their heavy machinery like pumps, compressors, and motors are working very well, healthy, and will not stop working unexpectedly.

This platform uses IIOT (Industrial Internet of Things) to collect data from sensors on each heavy equipment. It collects pressure, temperature, and vibration. Based on previous data, it makes analysis and predict the future. The software tells us in advance that when will the failure will occurs in a week or month. It shows some specific pattern on the screen of that particular machine.

1. It makes strategies to reduce and manage risk.
2. It actually check the health of machine in a real time.
3. It is reliable as it predicts the maintenance issues in future.
4. It makes sure that heavy equipment meets the local and international safety and quality standards.

This system is also called "Digital Brain" of machineries. A $500 bearing replacement is far more better that failure in $1 million dollar turbine. So this system reduce the maintenance cost. It also decreases the risks of machinery failure and major industrial accidents.

Expected Cost and Budget:

This project is based on "Re-measured" contract for a duration of 5 years. So the contract value can be changed. But generally this kind of projects secure contract ranging from $0.1 million to $10 million. As of 2021, the project management at Al-Zour Refinery consultancy contract was $222.8 million. But this kind of project requires more advanced techniques and a 5 year plan so it maybe millions dollar project.

The priority is given to those who has done before this kind of projects in Kuwait. Recently GE Vernova has secure this kind of GE APM contract for Shuaiba North Power Station.
