Introduction
Saudi Gulf News: Dubai Municipality has started Tasreef Program Phase 2. There are five new contracts awarded of value AED 2.5 billion in order to make better storm water drainage system. This initiative was taken on the directions of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum. Now Dubai is ready to face severe calamity and rains for next 100 years. The covered area will 430 million square meter and it will provide safe place to 3 millions people in 2040. Big tunnels, pumping stations, and new drainage networks are also part of this contract.

Impact of This Project
- Rain water will not be accumulated on roads because of new tunnels and new drainage system. It will not affect traffic and daily life.
- The construction of tunnels on Sheikh Zayed Road and Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Road will make proper transport and logistics networks.
- The risk of water collection in business corridors and industrial areas will be low.
- This project will list Dubai in one of those few cities which can tackle sudden calamity and natural disaster like rains.
