Summary:
Oman's tender board has approved RO 32 millions for its development projects and additional works during first meeting of 2026. Dr. Khamis Said Al Jabri who is Minister of Energy chaired this meeting. There are different sectors included in these projects like infrastructure, health, sports, and information technology. Our Analysis on This Meeting:
- The decision of construction of dams in Muscat will lower the risk of floods in Wadis. These dams will protect Muscat city as well.
- The government has set more than RO 8 million for health sector which means that it is interested in public health.
- The construction of Sports City and taking broadcasting rights means that Oman is watching himself as a regional sports hub. It will increase tourism also.
- These developments are not only in Muscat region but it is also in Dhofer and North Al Batinah. It shows that Oman is not looking only to Muscat but it wants regional development.
- To issue such a huge amount of tenders shows that more works for regional companies and more jobs will be there. Local companies will build their confidence.
