There is one 380/115 KV substation which is already energized in SPARK. This project was constructed by Al-Fanar Co. Two more 115/33 KV substations are already energized. Now Al-Haider has successfully this third 115/33 KV substation in SPARK area. The project was started in May-2022. There is 115 KV GIS (Gas Insulated Switchgear), 3 step down transformers control room, 33 KV switchgear, and auxiliary transformer area, and capacitor bank area. SEC (Saudi Electricity Company) built this project and handed over to Saudi Aramco. SPARK management will operate this substation.
Overview about SPARK (King Salman Energy Park)
King Salman Energy Park which is
known as SPARK is mega project in Saudi Arabia. It is located in Abqaiq city
between Dammam and Al-Ahsa in eastern province of Saudi Arabia. It is launched
in 2018 by Saudi Crown Prince Muhammad Bin Salman. The total area of this
project is more than 50 square kilometers. It is developed and operated by
Saudi Aramco.
There are four phases in SPARK.
It includes industrial zones, logistic zone, business district, residential and
commercial areas. Many local and international companies are working in SPARK.
Schlumburger, Halliburton, Siemens, Baker Hughes, Siemons, and Emerson are most
prominent international companies working here in SPARK.
