The construction contract for the Ghazlan Power Plant Expansion Project has been awarded to China Energy International Group and the Branch of China Energy Engineering.
The project was granted by Saudi Electricity Company (SEC).
Located on the Arabian Gulf Coast—approximately 20 kilometers northwest of Ras Tanura and 80 kilometers north of Dammam in Saudi Arabia's Eastern Province—the Ghazlan Power Plant is now set to undergo significant expansion.
Under the awarded contract, the existing power plant will be expanded by approximately 1600 megawatts (MW). The expansion will be executed on an EPC (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction) basis by the Chinese firms.
