As per vision 2030, Saudi Arabia has goal to localize 50% of its manufacturing in KSA. This agreement was signed during World Defense Show 2026 in capital city of Saudi Arabia Riyadh.
GAMI (General Authority of Military Industry) will not buy only equipment but also built infrastructure and manufacturing facility in cooperation with GE Aerospace.
There are two basic documents.
1. Industrial Participation Agreements
2. Memorandum of Understandings (MoU)

According to agreement, F110 Engine will be manufactured in Saudi Arabia. These engines are used in Royal Saudi Air Force. Local firms will get training from GE Aerospace. These local companies will repair these engines that are sent abroad before.
It will strengthen local companies MRO (Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul) which will be regional hub in this particular industry.
GE Aerospace will identify and certify these local companies to manufacture engine parts to ensure international standard and United States Government Requirements.
"The MoU will contribute to strengthening GAMI’s ongoing efforts to localise and develop the military industries sector, aligning with Saudi Vision 2030 objectives to acquire the knowledge required in specialised processes and the international certifications necessary to develop engine parts manufacturing capabilities." Said Nawaf Albawardi, deputy governor for the Localisation Sector of GAMI.
"Our relationship with GAMI demonstrates GE Aerospace’s commitment to localising advanced strategic industries within the kingdom and cultivating a highly qualified national workforce to advance Saudi Vision 2030 goals. This collaboration to share knowledge on engine manufacturing and sustainment goes beyond technology transfer. By supporting Saudi suppliers to develop capabilities in advanced MRO and manufacturing techniques and precision engineering, the agreement will accelerate Saudi Arabia’s industrial know-how and global competitiveness." Salim Mousallam, VP Defence & Systems for the Middle East, Africa, and Türkiye at GE Aerospace, said.
